Beef Stew

- 5pc bay leaves
- 1000g Beef Cubes for Stew
- 2pcs beef stock cubes
- 1tbsp butter
- 2pc carrots, cut lengthways, chunkily sliced
- 2pc celery sticks thickly sliced
- 1pc onion chopped
- 2tbsp plain flour
- 2sprigs thyme
- 2tbsp tomato puree
- 1tbsp vegetable oil
- 2tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
Preparation
1)
Pre-heat oven 160 degrees

Put the celery sticks, chopped
onion, sliced carrots, bay leaves and 1 thyme sprig in a casserole with 1 tsp
vegetable oil and 1 tbsp butter.

Fry till soften, about 10
minutes, add flour until it doesn’t look dusty anymore, add tomato puree,
worcesthire sauce and beef cubes.

Add 600 ml hot water, add beef
cubes and bring to a gentle simmer

Cover the casserole and put in
the oven for 2 hours 30 minutes, remove cover and cook for another 30-60
minutes until the meat is really tender and sauce is thick.
